Love Me Games
Exhibition at the Alliance Française, Buenos Aires, Argentina 2006 It was a self-portrait and social essay based on consumerism via various avenues: sex, drugs, games and recreations, the sometime-pleasures that end up controlling our lives. I put arcades and vivid prints outside the classrooms of the Alliance Française, so that students would waste time playing and be late for their classes. (Street Fighter, Mortal Combat, a motorcycle race). PArts of this exhibition were censured and removed before the opening, and before I had a chance to photograph it. Public and students of the Alliance Française could play on the arcades. |
