TANTO DESEO

Tanto Deseo was a project space for art around the idea of desire, so that means sex, mainly, but not exclusive. There were projects around violence, addictions, music fans, and other kind of desires.

Concept store and exhibition space for erotic art and objects that functioned in the area of San Telmo since 2006. Many media celebrated this initiative, Les Inrockuptibles published an issue completely about sex, and Tanto Deseo was the cover story and was spread all over the magazine. (From Spanish) “Without any doubt, one of the present oasis is Tanto Deseo, an erotic-artistic branch from APPETITE gallery, mothership of young art commanded by Daniela Luna. Tanto Deseo is an experimental essay, where urges are expressed under different topics.”  It also won the “Revelation Award” at the fair Puro Diseño in 2008, invited by Volumen Abierto.

En tiempos en que las representaciones del sexo -cada vez más explícitas, berretas y generalmente aburridas- proliferan en cada rincón, Daniela Luna y los artistas de su galería
Tanto Deseo se plantean recuperar, a través del arte contemporáneo, la fantasía y la excitación ante el cuerpo del otro.

En Tanto Deseo parece pulular un “vale todo” liberador. Artistas adultos se mezclan con jóvenes, adolescentes y creadores circunstanciales o no artistas. Se pierde en ocasiones una línea profesional de productores con oficio, pero esto no amenaza al “buen” arte o la obra “interesante”, ya que el objetivo pasa por otro lado: Tanto Deseo es un ensayo experimental, donde se expresan pulsiones bajo distintos temas y donde varios dibujos de rockstars hechos por fanáticos de diecisiete años pueden resultar divertidos e incluso, desde una mirada sociológico sobre la imagen contemporánea, digno de análisis. Y si bien el sexo se alza como motivo núcleo desde reflexivo, los usos del lenguaje visual, lo puramente erótico, sado, juego infantil o perverso, el deseo puede tener sus ramificaciones hacia la idolatría, la violencia y las adicciones de variada escala.
